Playing in the waterfall and coloring Easter eggs

Saturday was such a nice day outside. Greysen was having so much fun with his cousins and going in Grandpa's waterfall and pond. The water was so cold but he of course didn't seem to mind.
Greysen playing with balls and bubbles and loving life. He got wet from playing in the pond, so off went the clothes.

Coloring Easter eggs. Paint brush genius idea aunt Diana. It kept Greysen entertained for at least 15 minutes. Then he started dropping colored eggs in the dye and making a mess.

Easter Egg Hunt and Spagetti Lunch

Greysen had his first Easter egg hunt and thought it was so great. Then when he found out there was candy inside of the eggs he was really happy

Grandpa having some lunch with the grandkids. We were supposed to dish from the table but I skipped lunch.

Greysen loved eating spagetti with his hands and mixing it up. He and Leigha ate for 25 minutes because they were having so much fun.Elizabeth was cracking me up.Elizabeth was cracking me up. She said, "but mom I don't like to get messy I need a fork." She was much happier once she had her fork.

Day at Stanley Park in Canada

We went with the whole family to Stanley Park on Good Friday. It was such a nice day and everyone had the same idea to go to the aquarium.Greysen is our little tree hugger. Not really but he had fun climbing in the tree.
Here we are waiting to get into the aquarium and Greysen was chowing on Grandpa's popcorn.

Elizabeth and Greysen watching the Beluga whales.

Greysen with Steven in the Amazon. It was so humid that it steamed up my lens on my camera.
All 5 grandkids up a tree and happy.

Greysen thought the Easter bunny was pretty neat. It was a fun day and it was great to have MacKinlay's whole family together.

Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point

This was our 3rd year going to the annual Tulip Festival. Greysen enjoyed it more now that he is older. His favorite part was feeding the coy fish and the waterfalls.
He was running down the hill and fell belly down and cried for just a minute and once he showed me his hand for some sympathy he was off and running again.

There Greysen is running before the fall.
Our Family Picture by the fish. Greysen 32 mos. and baby girl 34 weeks.
Look at how many coy fish there were! They were 5 fish deep and going crazy for the food.
Greysen loved feeding the fish. I must admit I liked watching them too!
So happy to see the waterfalls. He talked about it for days after.
Greysen thought the goose was pretty cool.

Greysen's Hot Boots

Greysen loves his hot boots. He calls his snow boots his hot boots because they make his feet hot. He always wants to wear them because he can put them on all by himself. Sometimes he likes to put them on his hands and crawl around. He says he is a puppy and wants you to pet him. He is developing an imagination at this age.

Converting from Crib to Big Boy Bed

I try and remember all the funny things that Greysen says but then I forget to write them down. Lately if anyone says that he is getting big he corrects them and says, "no, Greysen still little." He wants to be little and hasn't really liked converting to the big boy bed from the crib. I decided to take off the front piece of his crib and for the past 4 days he has been pointing to it saying, "Missing a piece. Where'd the piece go mommy." The first day he looked all over for the "missing a piece" but then gave up. He has now been sleeping in the big boy bed much to his dismay. He still tries to sleep in the crib but falls out in the middle of the night and I put him in his big boy bed. He just started climbing out of his crib 4 weeks ago after 10 months of being able to climb into it. My little baby is growing up to be a little boy and I am happy and sad all at the same time.

Our New Improved Backyard

Here Greysen is being the pilot on the airplane teeter-totter and the next door neighbors' kids.
Had to have this. Luckily I had my brother-in-law and sister Shana help me assemble this huge hunk of metal. It holds 7 kids and holds up to 600 pounds. It has made Greysen slightly more popular in the neighborhood which works out great.
This is Greysen on his "belly swing." I bought him the bucket swing but that requires mommy to put him in and push. So I told him that this is the belly swing when mommy can't be with you. It took him a week or so but he eventually caught on. The yellow bucket swing is the favorite of all the kids his age.

I was shocked that he could hold onto the rings. He said he wanted to be a monkey and swing from them. Then he did his monkey noises and was cracking us up.
Here he is on the top story of his "treehouse" he likes to climb up the ladder and look into the neighbors yards and yell, "Hi! Hi!" over and over again. It took him a few days to go down the slide but he now loves it.
Here Greysen is in his "yellow swing." The higher the better. He was really afraid of swings before and would only go on them for 5 minutes but he has since moved on and loves the swing. Swing has not quite sprung, but we have had a few nice days and have spent them outdoors on the swings. Thank goodness for our new fence that was installed mid February. It has been a dream come true. Not the best babysitter but it does allow me a couple minutes to run inside or make dinner. It sure will be a dream this summer with a new baby.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Daddy bought this for Greysen the day before at Joann's Fabric store 50% off and Greysen would not stop talking about "decorate eggs" This kid loves eggs and the fact that they were Mickey Mouse was more than he could handle. By day 2 I said okay let's decorate eggs. He was thrilled but is still a little young to do it by himself the way he would prefer. Decorating the eggs did the trick and he quit talking about it once it was done.

Greysen and Daddy coloring eggs together.
Mommy holding the egg and Greysen coloring with crayon.
So excited for the eggs to boil. He was patiently asking every 2 minutes, "decorate eggs, now, please?"
The final product. Only 6 eggs because a few broke when he GENTLY threw them into the water to boil. It was a fun project. A month too soon but way to make Easter last!
