Mac had Back Surgery

On February 24, 2011 Mac had his back fusion surgery. This surgery was much more invasive than the surgery that he had April 17, 2010. They ended up putting 2 plastic cages onto his L-5 and S-1 discs and the nerve on the left side had been completely flattened because of the herniation. When he woke up he was in an indescribable amount of pain. He is now 6 1/2 wks post surgery and is doing so much better. It was a necessary surgery but so painful. He had to be in the hospital for 3 days and his back still hurts him daily. It will take 6 months to fully fuse and 4 months before physical therapy can begin. Poor little Greysen only knows that Daddy's back really hurts. Thank goodness for modern day medicine and here's to a speedy recovery.
