It's a Puppy!

We are now over 10 weeks pregnant and when I showed Greysen the Ultrasound picture and asked what it was he got excited and said, "puppy!" I said it's not a puppy and he said, "big puppy"? He is going to be sorely disappointed when I come home from the hospital with no puppy. He likes to pretend that the baby is in his belly. He points to his belly and says, "baby." I ask him if the baby is in Greysen's belly and he says, "no, mommy's belly." Such a cutie.
The due date is May 30, 2011 and we are so excited to have another baby in the house. Greysen loves babies but I am sure it will take a little getting used to a baby that we don't give back. He always wants to have the neighbors' baby come over and play.

Out to Lunch with Uncle Scott

My oldest brother Scott and I were able to meet in Salt Lake and go to lunch together last week. He was visiting from California and so Greysen and I met up with him. Greysen thought Scott was great and was at ease with him. We walked around the mall watching Greysen run and run. Then we went to Cheesecake Factory where Greysen bounced all over the place and tried to climb over the booth to someone else's table. We had a good time though.

Carpenter Greysen

Greysen loves to play with his set of tools. Lately he wants to wear the hat and belt and measure everything. He has been at a very fun age and is becoming much easier even though he is two. We haven't hit the terrible two stage yet but he definitely already went through the obnoxious one year old stage. Last week it was getting close to naptime and I was downstairs cleaning up while Greysen went exploring upstairs. It was a little too quiet so I was worried that he was into the lipstick drawer or making a mess elsewhere. I went upstairs and he had put himself down for a nap. There he was in his crib fast asleep. It was so precious and made me laugh at the same time. Such a neglectful mom I am. This was a once in a lifetime moment because he hasn't done it since. What a cutie.

Greysen's New Tricycle

Daddy put together Greysen's Trike and Greysen kept picking up parts saying, "Whast dis."
Greysen really likes that there is music on the trike and other fun features.
Here is Greysen's friend Hannah. He liked to push the back of the trike. He hasn't really wanted to sit on the trike and ride yet. He just likes the buttons.

Farm Country

Gateway Water Features

Greysen really liked the water features just outside of Daddy's work in SLC.
What a cutie.
Greysen has been such a fun sweet 2 year old.

Cousins Week 2010-High Hopes

Oh, how our little Greysen loves to play in the dirt.
This year cousins week was at Carpinteria Beach. The theme was high hopes and how to reach for the stars.
Randi (14) and Jada (20 mos) playing in the water. Jada loved the sand and water.
Here Greysen (24 mos) is rolling in the sand. He loves the beach but it was a little chilly for him. He would say "cold" or "home" after he went in the water and was miserable.
Reese (3), Peyton (11), Becky, Presley (23 mos), Cade (6) playing and having fun.
Becky with Presley.
Grammy with Gavin (3) at the beach just chillin.
Here's some of the gang practicing on the stilts.

Greysen's Birthday Party

It's all about the cake for the birthday party. Greysen has been obsessed with the movie 'cars' so the theme was cars.
Here is the water activity. A blow up water slide. Greysen only wanted to watch the kids. Sage took him down the slide once and he didn't like it at all.
Greysen's friend Hannah and mom Kate. chowing on some chips. We had a variety of food. Veggie burgers, hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit, salad and chips.
Greysen watching the sparklers on his cake.
Lacey was so excited to have cake. All the kids were gathered around choosing what piece of cake they wanted.
Greysen opening presents. He really liked opening presents and he would pull at the packaging and say, "open."
Greysen got trucks from Grandma and Grandpa and all the kids at the party had a blast with them. Between the water slide, trucks, sandbox and water sink the kids were well entertained.
Look how many kids were in that tiny little sandbox!
At the end of the party we found these little munchkins picking at the cake. I thought it was so cute.

Thayne and Rachel come for a visit!

Thayne and Rachel came for a family reunion and stayed at our house for a week and we were able to spend time with them just like old times. One day we went to Temple Square and here are some pics.
Greysen loved the reflection pond and played and spashed there for 15 minutes. It was tough to try and drag him away.
Greysen with daddy walking around.
Here we have Greysen (2) Jones (5) and Lacey (3). Greysen had some withdrawls when Jones and Lacey left. He loved having friends to play with. I had withdrawls when Rachel left but we had lots of fun times and laughs together.

Boston June 9-12, 2010

MacKinlay and I in front of Faneuil Hall with Quincy Market in the background.
Some of the Highlights of Boston.
Huge statue of Paul Revere
The view of the Old North Church where the lanterns were hung. Two if by land, one if by sea.
We got to do a tour of Paul Revere's house on the day we did the freedom trail. I love looking at houses and seeing the old furniture and the way people lived. And Paul Revere didn't yell, "the British are coming." He probably was a little more quiet and said the redcoats or the regulars are coming. We get a lot of untrue facts by the poet Longfellow.
MacKinlay, myself and John sitting in one of the boxes that you would purchase and decorate in the old north church. You would pay about $75,000 a year to own one.
The tavern where the minuteman met before the war. This was considered a nice place to stay the night. Some of the rules included no more than 5 men to a bed, no boots allowed in bed. Glad I didn't live in the 1700's.
A statue of the minutemen in Lexington. This is where the first battle was on April 19, 1775. Just 77 of the townspeople fought there. The colonists did not even fire a shot, that is why the "shot heard around the world" is in Concord were the first colonist's fired shots.
Many famous authors lived in this house at one point or another. There was Nathaniel Hawthorne and Margret Sidney. It was just down the street from the home of Louisa May Alcott.
This was the home of Louisa May Alcott. I was so sad that we missed the last tour.
This was the barn on the property of the Alcott's where Louisa May wrote Little Women.
The North bridge where the shot was heard around the world. Nobody knew who shot first but we know that it was the beginning of the revolutionary war.
Here is a statue that honored the men in New England fighting for their land. They were not trained militia but men who worked in the fields or were merchants.
This was a boat house that MacKinlay really wanted a picture of. There was a girl standing at the dock for about 20 minutes and he really wanted a picture. Finally I shouted across the water and asked if we could take a picture. She moved, I was embarrassed and Mac got his picture. Then we saw her while we were waiting for a table at a small cafe in Concord. I was so embarrassed and my hat was a dead giveaway.
