Piper Elise Timms

Piper Elise Timms was born at 10:12pm on Sunday May 8th, an Mothers Day miracle. She is 6 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long. She came 3 weeks and 2 days early and was quite a surprise to Mommy and Daddy. Kristin had been feeling contractions for a couple of days, but of course was thinking that it was just false labor. We decided that we should go to the hospital anyways, and of course after about 3 hours we were on our way home. After about an hour at home, the contractions became about 5 min apart, and a lot stronger so off to the hospital we went. After about half an hour there, the doctor was on his way and we were headed for a C-section. The doctors were so happy that when she came out she pinked up right away which is a sign of her lungs working well. She has lot's of dark hair, just like her Mommy did when she was born, and a cleft in her chin just like her Daddy and big brother. Unfortunately little Piper was having some problems with low blood sugar, so they needed to put an IV in and feed her some sugar water to get it up. Mommy and Daddy are sad to see the needle in her head, the only place they could find a good vein, but her blood sugar is all the way back up and she will get the IV out tonight. Big brother is doing well since Grandma came on the big airplane to see him and spend time playing with him, and we know that he will be a great big brother. Mommy is doing pretty well, and excited for when she can leave the hospital and take her baby girl home. We both feel so grateful to have a happy healthy little girl, and are so excited to have such wonderful children.
